I'm learning to use my new video-editing program (well, not that new, but I'm just giving it a serious try)--this one is for my upcoming mini=class on watercolor pencils, let me know what you think!
Hi Kate, Love this video. I'm pretty new at water colors. I'm really!! having trouble learning the right amount of water blending. I Still got loads to learn. But, for everyone of these videos, well it helps me soooo much. Thank you for this great new video. I really enjoyed watching it on my front deck today. :)
Great video, Kate! Lucky upcoming students!! Demonstration videos will add a great dimension on an online course. Nothing beats seeing the instructor handle brushes, paints, pencils.....
Wonderful Cathy, it's just what I'm looking for right now. I blogged about you and the AJW group of FB today...continuing the theme wc paints v pencils. xx Dion.
Thanks! This is fun and helpful all in one. We had a buffalo at our wedding, but no llamas. I never thought of drawing him, though. Now I'll have to give it a try. :)
Wonderful, Kate! :D Love it so much! I'm amazed that you had such an interesting and cute guest at your wedding! :D I just think the audio volume could be a bit louder if possible, I had to turn my audio to the maximum to listen it well. Don't know it it's possible to adjust it at your end... despite that, the video is great! You must have ninja skills to sketch with a camera in front of you and still talk and all that jazz. WOW! Ninja!
:D I'll try to do this mini-class when available, can't wait to try them all. Looks it would be lots of fun! Thank you again, Kate! :)
I enjoyed the excellent demonstration as well as the narration! I have been in love with the Derwent blue/grey color since you suggested it in your class. I learn so much watching you in action...I only recently began using my larger flat brushes, and they make a difference. I think this turned out really well!
Thanks, all! Fabiana, I guess I should say WE were the guests, the wedding was at the farm where the llama lived! I don't think there's any way for me to change the sound, though...YouTube has a volume control and so does my computer, but if setting them both on high doesn't get it, I think there's nothing I can do, sorry! I'll remember to talk louder next time!
The class should be up today or tomorrow!
And really, I just like the effect of a flat brush, they're very versatile, though I do use both.
I finally had time to watch this. It's so great. You have such a confidence with your lines. I'm in total agreement about choosing bolder colours just for fun. Reality can be boring sometimes! I love how this sketch turned out and I'm going to give a flat brush a try! I haven't seen a North Light video but I can't imagine it's as relaxed and accessible as you make yours. I feel like I'm curled up beside you as you work. Thanks so much for all you do for us. Tchao-wow!

ReplyDeleteWas there a reason for using a flat brush instead of a round?
