My BFF, the Eraser

I know there are some who don't agree, but the last art tool I would ever let go of is my Best Friend Forever, my Eraser.

It has given me permission to create with abandon, without worry of making a mistake. My BFF on the computer is the Undo command!

Here's a post about my favorites erasers that travel in my journal kit . . .

  1. I wouldn't let go of mine either. It's a tool for more than just erasing errors or making changes. You can use it just like any other tool for special effects or useful for lifting for highlights.

    This illustration is adorable!!!

  2. Absolutely, Jessica! It depends a lot on what I'm doing and why, and the paper I'm working on, and other factors, but I just invested in a box of Pentel Forte mechanical pencils BECAUSE they have nice big erasers (and no frills, but that's another issue!)

  4. Thanks, ladies. I am going to check out that mechanical pencil, Kate.

And I agree, Susan - love to draw with an eraser in my applied Panpastel backgrounds.

  5. I usually replace the HB leads with 2B for more versatility, and LOVE them. Handy, handy, handy.

  7. That's the cool thing about keeping an artist's journal...it is YOUR journal, and whatever works for you is good! :-)
