I have a journal I use almost exclusively for writing, and decided I needed to try the new Strathmore hardbound journal when I ran out of my faves.
It's nice! Smooth surface, a pleasure to write in, tempting mid-tan color, and fun to do some art in, taking advantage of that middleground tone.

I'd definitely recommend these...I'm having a ball trying out different mediums in addition to my daily journaling!
This paper looks wonderful - the colour is beautiful. I have been using the Strathmore in the ring bound book which I am not crazy about, so I am glad it is now in bound book form too.

DeleteI've been so tempted to get one of those journals, almost did last week, but opted to splurge on Danny Gregory's new book instead. I wish places like Dick Blick and/or other artist locations would offer something like the Free Supersaver shipping at $25. I know they have deals sometimes for shipping, but always at a much higher price point than I can spend at once time. These are great sketches and that little bird really pops on the toned paper.

ReplyDeleteKate, I just purchased the tan. I noticed it has little fibers speckled throughout the paper. Have you looked at the gray sketchbook yet? Is it the same way? (The art supply store near me closed down, so I can't really go look at one myself.)
